Beginning Astrology Class: The Birth Chart

This beginning astrology class will span 8 weeks, meeting every Monday from 9/1 to 10/20. Professional astrologer Philip Young, PhD will conduct the class and take students through the basics of astrology to the first level of interpretation of the birth chart. Students will use their own birth chart to complete weekly homework assignments. Class size will be limited to 5 students and will cost $80 per student.

Goals of the class:

• Becoming familiar and comfortable using and interpreting astrological jargon
  
• Interpreting your birth chart in segments and as a whole
  
• Preparing you to interpret another person's birth chart
  

Curriculum:

• 9/1 - What is Astrology and How Does it Work? - The 5 elements of astrological practice
  
• 9/8 - Interpretive elements of the Chart (sign, house, and energetic point) - the fundamental chart
  
• 9/15 - Signs and Houses - Which signs are in which house in your chart?
  
• 9/22 - Signs and Energetic Points - Which energetic points are ruled by which signs in your chart?
  
• 9/29 - Interpretation - Energetic point in house in sign in your chart means ...?
  
• 10/6 - Themes in Your Chart - Your Energetic Points in Hemispheres, Quadrants, and Elements
  
• 10/13 - Aspects & Patterns - Relationships between energetic points in your chart.
  
• 10/20 - Final Interpretation

Homework:

Will be assigned at the end of each class and you will use your own birth chart to complete each assignment. I highly recommend you get Forrest's book or another beginner book that you can make notes in specific to each week's assignment!
