April Planetarium Visit

For our next meetup, let's get back to how the ancients originally developed astrology...by observing the stars & planets themselves. As Tokyo doesn't afford the best natural stargazing conditions, how about meeting in one of Tokyo's best known planetariums at the Miraikan in Odaiba? We'll have to meet early though to beat the school kids. The planetarium requires reservations and it's first come, first serve (reservations accepted only in person and on that day only). I tried getting in this past Sunday at around 1:30 but the tickets were already sold out.

Place: Meet at 10:30am in the lobby of the Miraikan (http://www.miraikan.j.... From the Tokyo Teleport station (Rinkai line), it's a 15 min walk. Or take the Yurikamome from Shin-Bashi to the Telecome Center station from where it's a 5 min walk.

We should be able to catch the 10:45 show (English narration available) after which we can grab some lunch in Odaiba.

Notes:
The admission fee is 500 yen.
Bring a pair of bincoculars if you have one. I plan to bring mine.
